APP PROTOTYPE FOR COLOR MIXING

The merged classes of Interactive graphics and visual arts modules gave birth to a prototype called "Värvispiku" ("Color cheat sheet" in Estonian slang).

Main task was to create an app that would have a practical purpose. At that time we spent a lot of time in the studio trying to mix the primary colors in painting classes to practice color theory. There were many questions how to obtain a particular color with limited color palette and as my mind pondered on the small kids trying to mix the simplest color combinations I decided to create a simple and childish app that wouldn't yet dig too deep into the swamp of color theory.

I mixed and painted all the color spots with acrylics followed by cutting them out to try different layouts on paper for mobile view. Next I photographed all the layouts with my phone following the best practices on making pictures using the smart phone such as trying to find the best lighting conditions by the window and trying to avoid casting shadows on the picture.

Later I moved Värvispiku to Figma and it became my first app prototype.
